Hasimara

Situated in the central part of the Doors region in Alipurduar district, Hasimara is the railway station that is the closest rail route to reach Bhutan. The city is situated between Jaldapara Forest and Chilapata Forest and is known as the elephant corridor of Dooars where sighting of wild elephants across the roads is a common event. Hasimara is also home to the only air base of the Indian Air Force (IAF) located near the Indo-Bhutan border.
