Do You Need a Visa to Visit Bhutan?
The answer depends on your nationality:
- Indian citizens: No visa required. You need a valid passport or voter ID, and must apply for an Entry Permit on arrival (or in advance via e-permit).
- Foreign nationals (except India, Bangladesh & Maldives): Yes, a Bhutan visa is required and must be arranged before travel.
- Bangladesh & Maldives nationals: No visa needed, but an Entry Permit is still mandatory.

What is the Sustainable Development Fee (SDF)?
The SDF is a daily fee charged by the government of Bhutan to all foreign visitors. It helps fund education, healthcare, and environmental conservation in Bhutan.
- Indian citizens: ₹1,200 per person per night (as of 2025)
- Other international travelers: USD $100 per person per night
This fee is mandatory and applies from the day you enter until the day you leave Bhutan. It's included in our tour prices and fully managed on your behalf.
